You said I wouldn't like this shot, so of course I'm going to give you a big fat comment about it!
I can see why you did what you did here. I, too, would have been drawn to those lovely sinuous shadows and would have found them hard to frame by themselves. What you managed to do is include two human elements – path and lamp post shadow (nice one, that!) – in such a way that we are very aware of them (the first one at least) but they are not overly weighty. The only trouble I have with this photo is that it stands well within your thesis, which is as it should be, but less well by itself. Still, every shot one takes and shows on a website need not be an overwhelming knockout (my own site is testament to that!); as Marcella says about certain powerful ingredients, one must not overuse them so that they become cloying. This shot, then, balances your other more initially impactful ones by continuing to demonstrate your evolution in thought and vision.

I think this photo is wonderful-I love the warmth of the Sun on the ground against the blacknessof the shadows.
