In case it hasn’t been obvious, I’ve kind of chilled out with the postings. I guess you could say I’m pretty busy here with the job stuff and lately I’ve hardly had time to get out of the apartment, let alone with my camera. Actually last night I did finally get outside and I specifically decided not to take my camera because I wanted to unwind from a — seriously! — tough day of job searching. My eyes were having a hard time focusing from all the working on the computer and I knew the pictures I would take wouldn’t be worth the time and effort of lugging my camera around.
I also haven’t felt quite the need to blog lately because I’ve been writing again. Which might also explain my lack of drive to take photos; I’ve always noticed that I have a limited tank of creativity and, if I use it to write, I find I can’t take good photos — and vice versa. It’s strange, I know, but for some reason after being creative I need to either be logical or lazy.
My windowless room makes it very hard to wake up in the morning. I usually require some sort of light cue to motivate myself to get out of bed, and without it, I’m waking up later and later these days. What really sucks about it is that I thus stay up later and later, making me more tired in the morning, making me sleep later even despite my alarm. I think in the very near future I’m going to have to pull out the big guns and put the alarm clock across the room like old times. Getting up and out of bed to turn off my alarm is usually — usually — enough to get me to stay up. Sometimes, though, I can fall back onto my pillow and all is lost. A very sad story, I know.
Lastly, I haven’t yet decided about this photo. Composition, curves, business — I just don’t know. With this one, especially, I’d like to hear your feedback. Because I’m not sure what I think of it myself.

to me the picture seems like the typical urban picture you would see. kinda has a dark and depressing feel to it, mainly from the contrasts (this is how it seems to me, mind you). but i like it. like i always say: nothing better than birds, feet, and street. peace.

First impression; does not look like a fun day in the park. The darkness certainly sets the mood.
