Love how your "zone system" is working in these beach shots, Cog. Just gorgeous gradations of tone. In this shot, aside from the strong subject(s), I am also fascinated with the sky – it's got such a great texture that it holds its own despite its relative lack of weight in the composition.

I've usually found I don't like the triad of land, sea and sky in an image, feeling in most cases that I need to narrow down to two of the three, but I love how the rocks pull us into the middle of this image as a continuation of the line of pilings in the sand leading us to the horizon. Great composition. Too bad there was no lightening, then you'd have captured The Four Elemens (air, earth, fire and water).
