Country Still Life

I love the post-rain feel to this one. Taken by Nate’s cabin on Lake Champlain.

I almost think you should have staged this photo more, and by that I mean gotten rid of the trash cans. Although they provide a great color contrast, they seem to take away from the "rustic" feel of the photo. I like the wood of the shed and the wooden plank and just think the plastic really ruins it.

Interesting point, Gorsk. The garbage cans definitely make themselves the focal point here, but can't decide if I think that's bad. It would be a much different photo without them, and I really don't know which I like better. Are the trash cans interesting or confusing? I don't know.

This is why I don't comment more often.

Interesting discussion on this one, guys. The trash cans are, by all accounts, undeserving of any aesthetic prominence, as they are, after all, trash cans.

However, I did not take this photo nor post it simply because of its potentially rustic feel; I was more attracted to the colors, to be honest, and the blue of the trash cans is one of them.

Clearly the only solution here is to go back to Lake Champlain and move the cans and take the photo again.

    Maybe next weekend….

So, clearly, I am the only one that doesn't like the rubbermaids. Sorry I can't get into powder blue plastic on wheels.
