Took this shot this weekend at my grandparents’ cabin in Eastern Maine, near Boothbay Harbor. Gi (my grandma) was sat at the bottom of the frame, while her two sons (my dad at top and his brother Charlie at right) conversed loudly about which states they’ve visited so far. Enthralling, for sure.

Fascinating. Cool how you "used" the staircase without actually using it–ie, employing your people subjects instead to draw the eye. "Conversations" is, of course, quite apt. The black and white is ideal, and well-done tone wise.
And what's this I see?? ISO 800?? Looks pretty good man!

gorgeous, andy. this photo has real…presence, i guess you'd call it. and i love the ghostly light in the middle. it's almost like a fourth participant in the conversation. a presence, if you will. maybe it's the spirit of one of your ancestors, another generation wanting to join in. that'd be really cool if you had a ghost, but, even if you don't, you've still got a beautiful shot.
