You talk about being a "texture photographer," and this photo is a perfect example of that. So many details here, all captured beautifully by that medium format kit of yours.
This is very well framed, and the lightning-bolt shaped crack on the tree is almost too good to be true. Very powerful image. I would love to see this processed for a darker, more brooding look as well. Right now it's perfectly exposed (as far as I can tell anyway) but I think you might be able to further your message by some deft adjustments. Unless, of course, you'd rather leave the message to come out naturally, as though we are walking with you and chance, as you did, to look over and see this scene. Which is quite effective too.
