Before the Wind

This was taken today, just minutes before we had a particularly jarring jibe when the wind changed as we sailed around the island in our lake. Then, a little later, our landing skills were put to the test as eddy winds from all directions conspired to prevent us from tacking to our dock; for a while there I thought we were just going back and forth on a line perpendicular to our cabin and that we’d never end up at home. Okay, that’s a little dramatic, but it was quite a task nevertheless. But oh so much fun. I do love to sail.

I also love that my site becomes, at times, a message board. Soon, e-mail will be obsolete as the world learns to prefer the easy simplicity of andycogbill.com. Which reminds me, if any of you want an e-mail address @andycogbill.com, just let me know. Serious inquiries only….

Three days until I go. Four days until I move into my Manhattan apartment. Five days until I have hundreds of photos that I’ll want to post. You have my word.

Wide angle, what?!? I think your subjects just gained about a foot in height. f/10 gave you a surprisingly expansive DOF, huh??
