Three things strike me here (probably in this order): the square aspect ratio and arrangement of elements; the lovely, contrasty range of tones, particularly in the crumbled snow and the pavement; and the perfect detail of the tree branches in the foreground puddle.
All of which conspire to create an interesting photo of an ordinary scene. Your attention to detail shows, and pays off.
