Among

Upper East Central Park.

Those of you paying very close attention to the style of my recent photos will notice that this is the first shot I’ve posted of a non-family person in almost 4 months. And over six since I captured a face. I’m not sure what to say about this other than that I really don’t like to take that kind of photo anymore, for reasons which escape exact definition. I’ve had a feeling of being simply “burnt out” on the street-type style, perhaps from capturing one too many ironic moments on camera.

Regardless, I’ll forever remember the last shot I took in this style, as it has always been a favorite, but something about it blew a fuse in that side of my creativity, and ever since then I’ve really only been capable of the urban still lifes you see more recently, for better or worse.

Until today, apparently.

remember how i gave you a list of my photo orders approximately five billion years ago? well, that wasn't just idle flattery, my friend. i did actually mean that i wanted them. and please add this one to the top of my list. i'm a little bit in love with it. i think we all need to sit at more slanted tables among beautiful, gnarled things…

Hey Andy, so I know this photo has been up for a while but I didn't get a chance to comment until now. Anyway, I really like it – especially the shape of the trees and how they frame the woman. She looks protected and peaceful. It makes me want to find this place. Good job!
