A Statue’s Liberty

Wandered around Battery Park City again today — you can expect many more character studies in the coming days. Sorry, but I’ve been rather uninspired lately. As I think I said before, the nice weather is getting to me and I really need it to rain so something actually changes around here. Seriously, every day since I’ve moved here has been warm and beautiful. I think we’re in a drought. Would make sense, anyway.

But I won’t pretend to be a weatherman. Instead, I’ll explain the inner workings of my fatigue of late: I’m not eating enough. It’s true. The whole walking around during the day thing has cramped my style hardcore, since I never feel like stopping to eat lunch or a snack. Sometimes I’ll buy a lemonade or a Gatorade or another kind of ade and I’ll drink it (thirst, unlike hunger, isn’t something easily ignored) so I usually get some sugar but sometimes that’s it. Then I come home and order Chinese and stuff my stomach full of it and I call it a night. Then I get up in the morning and have some oatmeal (2 packets, don’t worry). It’s fun. I’m slowly wasting away….

But today I resolved to right that trend and actually eat lunch. I didn’t actually do it, because I was way away from anywhere there was food, but as I speak I’m boiling water to make macaroni and cheese. Actually, that was a lie. As soon as I’m done with this entry I’m going to boil water and make mac and cheese. It’ll be good.

As a final thought, I’d like to mention that yesterday, after job searching for about 5 hours, I saw a posting for “College Grads!!!” and I clicked on it and the job was for “late night hours” on a suicide hotline. If that doesn’t make you laugh, then I’m not sure we can be friends.
