I just recently found this photo on my hard drive and I realized that I had never posted it. It’s kind of amazing that, just a month ago, I was looking at things like this just driving to work and now… now it’s skyscrapers and people. Just different, that’s all.
Also, my apartment’s internet is, for whatever reason, out. I seem to have stumbled on an unsecured wireless internet connection, so, at least for the time being, I have a slow and dubiously reliable connection that may result in a decrease of posting frequency. Hang in there while I get this all sorted out.
But the big news lately is that my grandfather, Baboo, died last night. Don’t worry, he was 96 and almost completely incapacitated by Alzheimer’s and, in truth, we were all kind of waiting for him to “pass on,” as people say when talking about such things, but he will still certainly be missed. Goodbye, Baboo. Adieu. I hope it looks like this whereever you are.

Andy, sorry to hear about your loss. Good pic, reminds me too of the “Nam.” Our dinner get-together still feels recent to me. I participated in my first triathlon two weeks ago [bike, run, paddle] — finished close to last, but it was an achievement in my book. Glad to hear things are going well.

Thanks, Flob. I never thought of this shot as the “Nam,” but hey, I was only there for a couple of years.
Well done on the tri! I wish I were still somewhere they did such things. But no, here it’s all walking and talking. Whatever that means.

… I just realized that Flob was, in fact, talking about the “Nam” as in “Namekagon,” not “‘Nam” as in Vietnam. My bad.

Andy, I gotta say, your photographs just continually blow me away. Like, ALL of them. Holy cow.
I’m sure the place your grandpa is looks like that

It doesn’t get any better than that in the here and now or is there is a hereafter…..

The more I look at this image, the more I like it. Really beautiful. 1/5 second is slow, man–what time of day was this?

Andy, this is the MOST magical of all your shots I've seen to date ! The lighting is unreal ! I suspect there was a lot of creativity achieved through PS, which is fine with me, no different than everything Ansel Adams did with his images dodging and burning in a darkroom.
